We should probably start with the antlers. The eye-catching promo image for Netflix's new eight-part fantasy series Sweet Tooth introduces its lead character Gus, a child who was born part-animal, part-human.

The post-apocalyptic show, which is co-produced by Robert Downey Jr and adapted from Jeff Lemire's comic book series, depicts the emergence of hybrid children after a mysterious virus sweeps the world.

It's an admittedly bonkers premise but it could also become your new favourite watch, if early reactions are anything to go by.

Here are six things to know about Sweet Tooth, which launches on Friday.

Phone companies told to block site

Nigeria's government has told the country's mobile phone networks to block access to Twitter, a statement from the industry umbrella body said. Phone users are reporting difficulties in accessing the site. It is still available through some wi-fi networks. This comes after the government said it was suspending Twitter operations in the country "indefinitely". It alleged the site was being used to undermine "Nigeria's corporate existence". Twitter has called the ban "deeply concerning". The rape survivors facing an ‘impossible choice’ in Brazil

Paloma had just cobbled together enough money for a clandestine abortion when the coronavirus pandemic shuttered much of Brazil. The 27-year-old had been raped late last year by an ex-boyfriend who remained a close family friend. The mother of two found out she was pregnant a few weeks later, after moving from her native Bahia to Minas Gerais, a nearby state, for work. "I didn't know what to do," recalls Paloma. "The only thing I was certain of was that I didn't want this child." Brazil has strict laws on abortion. Terminations are only allowed in cases of rape, when the mother's life is at risk or when the foetus has the defect anencephaly - a rare condition that prevents part of the brain and skull from developing. While Paloma was entitled to an abortion by law, like many women in Brazil, she was not entirely clear on her rights.
